A CALL TO ACTION

One of the most important, yet neglected, aspects of any sales message is the “call to action.” That’s when you urge your customers to act NOW.

Think about what you want your reader to do—read, buy, send for, subscribe, call, etc.—then incorporate that message into your call-to-action.

Spotlight the call-to-action in all your marketing pieces, including brochures, sales kits, press releases and on every page of your Web site. Yes, readers need to be told what to do ... so by all means, tell them!

Here are some examples of the call to action:

• Send for your free brochure...
• Call today for a free estimate...
• Visit our Web site for contest rules and details...
• Subscribe TODAY and receive a free gift...
• E-mail us for more information...
• Don’t live with pain...contact us today at...
• Call now for your complimentary, one-hour consultation...
• Respond within 10 days and get a bonus report...
• Sign up today and receive a 10 percent discount...
• Remember, if you don’t ask for the sale, you may not get it. So start • including a call-to-action in all your sales materials—TODAY!
