A CALL TO ACTION

One of the most important, yet neglected, aspects of any sales message is the "call to action." That's when you urge your customers to act TODAY!

We're amazed at the number of brochures, Web sites, direct-mail pieces, e-blasts, and other promotional pieces that don't give the reader a directive. You've told them about your product, service, or special offer ... now what do you want them do? Let them know!

You may want them to call, read, buy, go online, subscribe, or e-mail. Incorporate that into your message, and make sure it's prominent. Here are some examples:

  • Send for your free brochure ...
  • Download your free report here ...
  • Claim your complimentary subscription ...
  • Call today for a free estimate ...
  • Sign up for our teleclass ...
  • Contact us today for a complimentary consultation ...
  • Visit our Web site for contest rules and details ...
  • Subscribe by the end of the month and receive a free gift ...
  • E-mail us for more information ...
Remember, if you don't ask for the sale, you may not get it. So start including a call to action in all your sales materials — TODAY!
